Combined Painting Ltd: A History

Early Roots
Combined Painting was founded on principles of hard work, providing quality finishings and a strong belief in the importance of lasting relationships.

Our story begins 100 years ago, when Joe Boshard immigrated to Canada from the the Netherlands and founded his paint contracting company, J. Boshard & Sons. Working with his sons, he grew J. Boshard & Sons to be the largest painting company in Western Canada.

Three Generations
Following in his father’s footsteps, Pete Boshard, after 20 years of dedicated work with his father, started Combined Painting with his wife June. Pete grew the size and recognition of Combined Painting working with many of Vancouver’s finest general contractors. Combined Painting was soon being awarded contracts to paint the bridges for the Alaska Highway and new government buildings being constructed in the north. After retirement in 1985, Pete handed the company over to his two sons Peter and Greg, and Greg Boshard ran the company with same focus as his father and grandfather.

Today his three sons—Chris, Matt and Tim—continue to operate and be guided with the same principles that fuelled the growth and success as the generations before them: solid customer relationships and high quality finishing.
